I assumed those people were hobos
St Kilda's streets facing ban on booze
IT IS a regular ritual for many Melburnians — they clutch a takeaway beer and start the Saturday night stagger — bar-hopping from one licensed venue to another. But that kind of revelry will soon be banned in St Kilda.
Port Phillip Council will prohibit people carrying open cans or bottles of alcohol on the streets between 11pm and 7am in a bid to curb antisocial behaviour.
So up til now it's been legal to drink on the streets of St Kilda at night? Why do I always hear about these things when it's too late?
